Whiskies in the Octave range are finished in a small cask to enhance the influence of the wood - in this case, a Pedro Ximénez sherry cask. As rich as you would hope for with that heady sherry influence, the nose brings up raisins, figs and toffee, consolidated by fruitcake, honey, berries, spice and a touch of cocoa on the palate and finish.
