During this experience, you’ll deepen your knowledge on specialty coffee, develop your sensory skills and learn more about creating great espresso and milk-based drinks at home. No prior experience is required, and there are a maximum of four people per class to ensure each person gets ample hands-on time with the machines and equipment. The course will begin with a guided cupping of the range so you can understand the origin, terroir and post harvest processing methods that affect the coffee’s flavour profile. With this knowledge, you’ll explore espresso theory and suitable brew recipes, with the ultimate aim of producing a better balance of flavours at home. Additionally, you’ll practice the artistic process of steaming milk and achieving the desired textures for creating silky milk-based drinks and latte art. You’ll get to use a range of equipment such as the Sage Barista Express Impress, a La Marzocco Linea PB, and Mahlkönig and Fiorenzato grinders.
