Its microporous structure allows the timber to breathe, expanding and contracting with natural wood movement, which helps prevent peeling, blistering, and flaking over time. Coverage re up to 15 m² per litre on planed softwood or hardwood. UV filters and weather resistance built in: The formula incorporates UV filters and water-repellent technology to guard against sun damage, moisture ingress, and general weathering. The result is a semi-gloss, translucent finish that keeps the natural grain visible while maintaining colour integrity through changing seasons. Apply when air and substrate temperatures are between 8°C and 25°C for best results. Recommended coating system for new timber: For optimum durability on new or bare wood, Sadolin recommends applying one coat of Sadolin Classic Wood Protection as a base coat, followed by two coats of Sadolin Extra. Touch dry at 20°C in 4-6 hours; recoat after 16-24 hours. The product should not be thinned and is applied by brush only - spraying is not recommended by Sadolin.
