It covers softwoods, hardwoods, chipboard, and fibreboard, and can also be applied over previously primed or ted woodwork, whether the original coating was solvent- or water-based. One coat is the standard recommendation under normal conditions. Coverage and drying times that keep projects moving: Each litre covers up to 13 m², giving the 5-litre container a practical coverage of up to 65 m² in a single coat. The formula is touch dry within 1-2 hours and ready to recoat in 2-4 hours, which suits both trade and home decoration schedules where waiting time matters. Low odour and easy to apply: Because AquaMax is water-based, it carries only trace VOC levels, keeping indoor working conditions more comfortable than solvent-based alternatives. It can be applied by brush, roller, conventional spray, or airless spray. Thinning with clean water is permitted: up to 1 part water to 10 parts t for brush or roller application, or up to 1 part water to 2.5 parts t for conventional spray use. Important surface suitability note: Dulux AquaMax is not recommended as a primer for bare metal, plaster, brickwork, rendering, asbestos, cement, or rough surfaces, and should not be used on heated surfaces. Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from grease, wax, and loose materials before application. Do not apply when the temperature is below 10°C or when rain is expected outdoors.
